First stop is in the wine-growing region of Spain, El Penedès, home to several prestigious vineyards - known locally as “cellers”. Learn all about Cava, a high-quality sparkling wine, as you visit a family owned winery. Uncover the secrets of the impressive underground cellars, while a family member explains why this winery is based on organic agricultural practices.
Learn how the famous wine and cava (local champagne) are produced, from the first pressing of the grapes to the fermentation in the cellars. After touring the vineyards and cellars, take part in a cava-tasting session, savoring the exquisite notes of the local champagne. You will see exactly why Catalan wine and cava have acquired such international fame.
Catalonia is the land of traditions. In every single city, town and village there is a festival of some kind which gets all the townsfolk out in the street to celebrate. Join locals in the “Festa Major” (or City Festival), where you will see local dances and folklore groups parade in the streets of the village.
Watch the amazing Human Tower performance and experience how it feels being among the crowd by joining la “Pinya” (solid base in the tower). Castells (human towers) are a unique practice in the world and UNESCO declared it Intangible World Heritage. This is a must experience when visiting Catalunya!

Hours of operation
Available: March 15 - November 6; Friday tours depart at 2:15pm and Sunday tours depart at 9:00am. Please arrive 15 minutes prior the tour.
Duration
The tour is approximately 6-8 hours.
Location
Tour begins and ends in Central Barcelona, at Plaça de l’Ossa Menor at Glories shopping Center (next to the Starbucks café). There’s no LIVING IT office there, it is only the departure point. We can also pick you up at your accommodation place. Tell us when you book in!
Additional Information
There will be time off the bus at your leisure, so please bring suitable clothing and footwear. Please bring comfortable clothing if you would like to participate in the human towers activity. Please, bring sun protection during summer season.
Participant restrictions
Minimum age for wine/cava tasting is 18 years. Minors will taste drinks with no alcohol.
Infants (0 to 2 years old) are free of charge.
