While travelling through beautiful country-sides and picturesque Andalusian villages, discover majestic olive trees and a traditional oil mill!

Enjoy the sensation of tasting new flavours from the best selection of this natural liquid gold in the world’s first olive oil production region!

At first, let's take a look at the olive trees! These very old grandfathers have many things to tell us! Our guide will explain about the different varieties of olive trees and olives, the harvesting season, the olive tree life cycle and some more interesting stories about this great tree.

In a small white village of the Lecrin Valley, we will visit a beautifully preserved XV century oil mill, unique in Spain! At a specialized store, we will compare the traditional with the modern production processes.

We will learn a little more about the different oils and their labels: organic, virgin, virgin extra, one single olive variety, acidity percentage, appellations of origin, etc. Olive oil tasting: now let's enjoy tasting some of them!

We'll taste some of the most representative oils and learn how to feel in different places of our palate, the bitterness, the spicy, and the fruity sensations, as well as other qualities and characteristics of olive oils.

Starters (to choose): Salad with Olives, Goat cheese and almonds from surrounding area, ‘Salmorejo’ Cold tomato, bread and garlic soup topped with diced boiled eggs and Serrano ham. ‘Gazpacho’ Cold Andalusian vegetables soup. Varied stews.

Main course (to choose): Duck confit with roasted potatoes, breaded escalopes with mushroom sauce. Fresh fishes such as Seabass, gilthead bream, horse mackerel, sardines, anchovies.

Drinks, dessert and coffee. Drink (Wine, water, beer and soft drink). Dessert. Coffee.

Hours of operation

Half Day Tour:

Morning tour pick up is between 9:30 - 10:00am.

Afternoon tour pick up is between 4:00 - 4:30pm.

Full day:

Morning tour pick up is between 9:00 - 10:00am.

Closed August 7 - 21.

Please be ready 10 minutes prior to pick up time.

Duration

Half day tour is approximately 3 hours and Full day tour is approximately 6 hours.

Participant restrictions

Children 0-5 years of age are free on Half Day Tour and 8,00€ on Half Day Tour with Lunch.

Tours including wine tasting are not recommended for children.
