Highlights / General details
Discovered in 1974 by a group of farmers digging a well, Xian's Terracotta Warriors astounded the world with their artistry and sheer numbers. The terracotta army was constructed to guard the tomb of Emperor Qin Shihuang, the founding emperor of the Qin Dynasty, and the emperor who united China.
What makes the Terracotta warriors in Xi'an so amazing is that each one is life size and unique. Each face is different and clothing and hairstyles have individual characteristics.

Itinerary
On this tour you will first visit the archeological site of Banpo Museum, built more than 6,000 year ago, and you will see how the resident matriarchic tribe used to survive in the Neolithic age. The site shows a collection of utensils and a reconstruction of the primitive buildings typical of this village. (Sightseeing for 1 hour)
Afterwards, you will see one of the most fabled attractions of China: Terracotta Warriors and Horses. They are the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. These terracotta warriors and horses are the size of a real army, and were buried alongside the Emperor in a vast underground palace. Today they constitute a spectacular monument to the power and resources of Imperial China, and to the religious beliefs that informed Chinese spirituality throughout the ages. (Sightseeing for 2 hours)
Next, we will visit Emperor Qinshihuang Mausoleum. (Sightseeing for 40 minutes)
We will have a late lunch at a local Chinese restaurant for about 1 hour.
On the way back to downtown, there is a short visit at the Terra-Cotta Replication Factory for 30 minutes, where you could buy some souvenir for yourself or family or friends.
We will drop you off at your hotel to end your Xi’an day trip.
