With more than 1,200 animals on 56 acres of lush, natural habitats, the Zoo contains several exhibiting areas, including Safari Africa, Ituri Forest, Wallaroo Station, Primate World, Florida Wildlife Center and Asian Gardens.

Animal interactions are available as well, including feeding a giraffe, walking with wallabies, feeling a stingray, touching a giant tortoise and more. Visitors, especially children, will enjoy the hands-on experience we offer that provides an educational insight into the animals' lives.

Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is recognized as a conservation and biodiversity center. As the region's only dedicated zoological garden, it was created to be an economical destination. The Native Florida Wildlife Center and the manatee hospital showcase these native species and inform guests on what they can personally do to help preserve their environments.

Additional Information

The Zoo’s pathways, facilities and exhibits are designed to provide all visitors an enjoyable experience. Our front parking lot, entryway and walkways are enhanced to provide easy navigation for all of our guests.

Participant restrictions

For the safety of our animals, no outside food or beverages are allowed in the Zoo. Guests can have their hands stamped to use the picnic areas outside of the main gate, and then re-enter.

Shirt and shoes must be worn at all times.

No roller skate shoes permitted inside the Zoo.

Personal pets are not allowed. Only trained service animals.

Smoking is only permitted in designated areas.

Policies

All bags, backpacks and packages are subject to inspection prior to entering the park.

As a reminder, the following items are not permitted to be brought into Lowry Park Zoo for the safety of our animals and our guests: weapons, knives, any other type of sharp objects, straws, large hard or soft coolers and any hazardous items or materials.
