Challenge yourself on this exhilarating fully narrated advanced tour, designed for guests with prior experience riding an i2 Segway. The tour scoots up Russian Hill, eases down the world’s “crookedest” street, explores North Beach / Little Italy, and glides along the waterfront. This new Advanced Rider Segway Tour incorporates more riding, bigger hills and a bit less historical narration than our standard tours. All Advanced Tour guests must have a prior (2 hour minimum) tour riding experience in the past year on the i2 Segway with lean steer technology. Your fully narrated tour will feature spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay from the hills of the city.

Points of interest:

Cruise through Aquatic Park and to the end of Municipal Pier.

See the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, great views of Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, and unbelievable bay vistas.

Climb the slopes of Russian Hill.

The affluent residential neighborhood's name goes back to the Gold Rush-era when settlers discovered a small Russian cemetery at the top of the hill. Enjoy sweeping views of Alcatraz, Coit Tower, the Bay Bridge, and the San Francisco Bay.

Peek down Hidden Stairways and Paths.

See some of San Francisco’s 350 hidden stairways and pedestrian-only lanes.

Climb past the Cable Cars to the peak of Lombard Street, the “Crookedest” street in the world.

Ride down the world’s most famous “crookedest street,” then cruise toward North Beach down the slopes of Telegraph Hill.

Explore North Beach.

North Beach is the city’s most European neighborhood, with a predominantly Italian flavor. Recently honored as one of the 10 great neighborhoods in the country!

Stop and see Saints Peter and Paul Church in Washington Square Park, the center of Little Italy.

Return to the waterfront near Pier 39.

Pier 39 is home to San Francisco’s famous sea lions and is one of the top tourist attractions in the nation.

Glide past the Historic Wharf Fishing Fleet.

See and smell the ocean as we scoot back to the starting point.

Hours of operation

Available daily departing at 10:30am from April to October and at 11:30am from November to March. Tour does not operate on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Check in at least 15 minutes prior to departure time.

Duration

Approximately 2.5 Hours including a 25 minutes refresher course.

Participant restrictions

Rider must be 12 years or older and weight 100lbs – 250lbs. No weight exceptions.

Pregnant guests are not allowed on the tour due to fall risk.

Not recommended for guests with some mobility or motor control issues and for guests that are ages 70 years and older.

Previous experience required. Rider must have taken a Segway tour, with a Segway Tour provider, within the last year.

All Guests on this advanced tour must have taken a 2+ hour Segway Tour on a newer version of the Segway i2 with lean steer. Our tours or a full 2+ hour tour in another city in the last 12 months will qualify you. A five minute test ride or tours on the older version (non-moving handlebar design) of the Segway do not qualify. All members of your group must have the minimum experience. This is not a beginner tour or appropriate for guests with mobility issues.

You must be able to easily and quickly step on and off the Segway without assistance, which requires physical abilities similar to climbing and descending stairs without any assistance or use of a handrail. You will be standing for over 2 hours.

Policies

Cancellation: 3 days prior 100% penalty. No show 100% penalty.

Maximum group size is 8 passengers. If more than the maximum 8 passengers is booked additional charges will apply.

This tour is for experienced segway riders only.

This tour subject to a minimum of 4 guests.

You must complete the Segway rider training and test ride.

All guests must sign a liability waiver.
