An urban paradise for all ages, the San Diego Zoo is a must-see in Southern California. Winding paths through the tropical oasis of a botanical garden bring you to more than 4,000 rare and fascinating animals, including giant pandas, orangutans, tigers, flamingos, polar bears, gorillas, hippos, Komodo dragons, and more.

Come explore the Zoo’s newest exhibit, Australian Outback, a home for our colony of 25 koalas and other Aussie animals. The festive, lively atmosphere makes the San Diego Zoo a great place for family fun and gathering friends.

Panda Trek - One of the San Diego Zoo’s most popular areas transports guests into a world inspired by China’s giant panda reserves. Visitors can learn about animals that share habitat with this endangered bear species, including takins, red pandas and the Mang Mountain pit viper. The journey ends at the panda habitat, where guests can continue to learn about the Zoo’s pandas as well as its efforts with China to save this species.

The Harry and Grace Steele Elephant Odyssey - The 7.5-acre habitat is a first-of-its-kind experience, providing an entertaining and educational journey. Elephant Odyssey combines the fun of a zoo with the experience of a museum by creating an untamed landscape of animals from the past and present. It features elephants, jaguars, California condors and others next to replicas of their extinct relatives that roamed California during the Pleistocene era.

Discover some of the wonders from the Land Down Under at the all-new Conrad Prebys Australian Outback. Visitors can wind their way through a eucalyptus grove and discover species from Tasmanian devils to wallabies, kookaburras and cockatoos. The Australian Outback culminates at a Queenslander house-style care center that overlooks the Zoo’s Queensland koala colony – the largest outside of Australia!

Attractions include: Panda Trek - China’s Giant Panda; Elephant Odyssey; Urban Jungle & Reptile Walk; Behind-the-scenes tours (additional cost); Animal Shows; Australian Outback; Northern Frontier; Africa Rocks - Madagascar Habitat.

Hours of operation

Available daily at 9:00am, pick-up begins at 8:10am. No tour departures on: Thanksgiving Day (11/22/2018), Christmas Day (12/25/2018), New Year Day (1/01/2019), Oscar Academy Day (2/24/2019).

Location

If you are not getting picked up from your hotel, tour guests may drive directly to our terminal location at 2232 South Harbor Boulevard, Anaheim CA 92802 and should arrive by no later than 9:00am on the day of their tour.
