Highlights / General details
As the most photographed and geological wonder of the American West, Rainbow bridge is a must see during your Lake Powell visit. The Rainbow Bridge tour allows guests to experience the realm of the Native American spirit and the wide-ranging characteristics of the Glen Canyon. You will also enjoy the wonderful rock formations, beautiful painted walls and observe the historic landmarks studied by the US National Service. You are allowed 1 ½ hours to walk the 1 ½ mile trail to the bridge and back. The trail is a natural graded path that is not recommended for strollers or wheelchairs. Complimentary coffee, water and lemonade are available onboard.
The land that comprising Rainbow Bridge National Monument was traditionally used by Navajo, Southern Paiute, San Juan, Ute, Kaibab Paiute, White Mesa Ute and Hopi Peoples. Prior to these tribes, Ancestral Puebloans and earlier indigenous people lived in and used the area.
The bridge extends 290' into the sky and 275' across Bridge Canyon. Witness firsthand the power of wind and water in their role that sculpted this remarkable landscape.
