The collection was started by the Kiev Association of Antiquities and Fine Arts Lovers (late 19th century). The collection of museum is more then 73 000 works of art. They are fabrics, tapestries, embroideries, pottery, wood carvings, decorative glass, porcelain and glazed pottery, "pysanky" (Easter eggs).
