Mini Trek Across Perito Moreno Glacier

Departing from Bajo de la Sombra Port, we will arrive at the world-famous Perito Moreno Glacier approximately 5 miles after departure. Upon arrival, enjoy a 40 minute walk across the Rico Arm until arriving at the glacier. Guests will then be given crampons (special metal spikes worn on boots for traction) to wear.

Then the adventure really begins with a fascinating 2 hour walk across the glacier. At the end of the walk, adventurers will be offered a glass of whiskey with ice from the glacier. We will return by a road between a forest of lengas and the pier. Crossing the Rico Arm again, you will be lead to the footbridge in front of the glacier.

Hotel pick up and drop off from hotels in El Calafate; Whiskey; Walk over the Glacier with crampons; View the small interior lagoons; Observe the different shapes and hues of the ice; View the south front of the Glacier from the Port of Bajo Sombras. Languages: English, Spanish.

Additional Information

Sport shoes or trekking boots, with warm wool or cotton socks are highly recommended. Rubber and apres ski boots, as well as high heel shoes are not advisable.

Comfortable sportswear, long trousers, warm sweater or pile, water or windproof jacket, sun glasses, sun block, and gloves are highly recommended.

Passengers must bring their own lunch boxes.

Participant restrictions

The tour is only available to those between 10 and 65 years old.

This excursion, due to the degree of effort and difficulty that presents, is not advisable for pregnant women, those who are not in good physical condition or have a disability that would limit their movement.

The start time is an approximate departure time from your hotel. Your exact pick up time will be sent to you once you confirm your reservation.

Tour requires a 2 passenger minimum to operate.

You MUST provide passport information for each passenger (name, passport number, nationality, date of birth) at booking. If you do not the tour will be cancelled.
