Come to enjoy one of the most special places of Lake Titicaca - Ecolodge “La Estancia” – located in the southern part of the sacred Island of the Sun.

Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world (3,810 m) due to its natural influence with the complement of the Andes Range was the main reason of development of the Andean civilizations.

The construction of the ecolodge was based in the main principles of sustainable tourism, starting with the assistance and support to the local Aymara community. Then building the cottages with a strong respect of the landscape and using local architecture. Finally using solar energy, recycling gray water and planting native plants.

Itinerary

Day 1: La Paz – Copacabana – Sun Island.

An agreeable trip by private transportation from Puno or La Paz until Copacabana (3 ½ hours), a pleasant town in the shores of Lake Titicaca. Visit to its church and the famous "Virgen Morena", have a stroll around. Trip by motorized boat to the legendary Island of the Sun (1 hour), until Huacani to have an Aptapi (typical lunch in the highlands), this trip continues by boat up till to the ruins of Pilkokaina Inca temple. Finally hike to La Estancia with a wonderful view of Lake Titicaca (1 hour approximately). Overnight in Ecolodge La Estancia. (Includes: Lunch, Dinner)

Day 2: La Chinkana in Sun Island.

DON’T MISS THE SUNRISE EARLY IN THE MORNING! Hike down through Yumani visiting the Inca stairs and the Water of the Eternal Youth, then have a trip north by boat to visit Chincana ruins and the Sacred Rock (1 hour); short hike (45 minutes) to Challapampa, then Return to Ecolodge La Estancia with an optional hike up (2 ½ hours). Afternoon free to enjoy the peace and beauty of this mystical place. Overnight in Ecolodge La Estancia. (Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 3: Sun Island – Moon Island – Copacabana – La Paz.

Hike down through the village of Yumani in the Garden and stairs of the Incas, to take the boat to the Island of the Moon, visit the ruins of Iñak Uyu Inca temple, trip by boat to Copacabana (1 ½ hours). To finally take a private transportation to La Paz or Puno (3 ½ hours). (Includes: Breakfast, Lunch)
