From Sausalito, the tour takes you along the Pacific Coast Highway providing breathtaking views of the coastal mountains near Mt. Tamalpais, the highest point in the Northern California Coast Ranges. After a very scenic drive into the Marin County, we will reach Muir Woods National Monument, home to the Coast Redwoods, some of the tallest trees in the world! Set aside in 1908 as a federally protected area, Muir Woods National Monument is the only surviving stand of Old Growth Forest in the Bay Area today. There are a number of paved walking trails where visitors can get a close look at the magnificent giants. Other unpaved walking trails lead up the hills to connect with trails outside of the Monument boundaries. (Admission not included, $10 per person, kids are free).

Hours of operation

Departs Sausalito daily at 12:00pm, 1:30pm, and 3:00pm.

Departs Muir Woods daily at 11:00am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm and 4:30pm.

No tour departures on Christmas Day. On December 24th and 31st, the last bus departure will be at 4:00pm.

Duration

Unlimited hop-on hop-off use for 24 hours.

Location

Tour departs from Sausalito, Humboldt Avenue.

Please note: This tour leaves from Sausalito. Customers need to find their own transportation to/from Sausalito. They are welcome to take the Official City Tour and Sausalito Tour (both at additional cost) to connect with the Muir Woods Tour in Sausalito.

Participant restrictions

There are approximately 1.5 miles (ca. 2.4 km) of paved, wheelchair accessible trails in Muir Woods.

Policies

Cancellation: 1 day prior 100% penalty. No show 100% penalty.

Vouchers are valid for any date, but must be redeemed on or before the season selected on ticket option purchased.

Once vouchers have been redeemed for tickets, passengers are free to hop on and off the bus at any stop as often as they like for up to 24 hours.

During peak season (July & August) additional departures may be added for higher frequency.

During winter season (October to March) subject to weather conditions - please call for further information

Alamo Square Park is CLOSED for about 7 months as of May 2016.
