The Dune Rider vehicle is purpose built to go off-road in comfort with air conditioning, reclining seats, plenty of leg room and sloping floors for great viewing.
Your full day tour begins with an early morning pick up at your accommodation and includes entrance to Gumdigger's Park, a sit down buffet style lunch at Waitiki Landing, visiting Cape Reinga lighthouse to view the meeting of the two oceans, a beach stop on 90 Mile Beach, boogie boarding down huge sand dunes at Te Paki stream and time at the Ancient Kauri Kingdom. Finish the day with fabulously fresh fish and chips at the famous Mangonui Fish Shop, at your own expense.

Available: Daily, year round; Departs Paihia at 7:30am, Russell passengers take 7:00am ferry transfer to Paihia.*

Pick up from accommodations in Paihia, Waitangi, Opua or Kerikeri region. Please note that all pick up and drop off locations must be confirmed on booking.
Itinerary
Dune Rider departs Paihia with pickups from your accommodation available from 7:00am. Passengers staying in Russell need to catch the ferry to catch the bus in Paihia at 7:30am. (Contact us about additional pick up points including Kerikeri)
Journey through the Far North with a full commentary from our local and knowledgeable drivers.
Entry to Gumdiggers Park, where you will learn about the history of Kauri in the area, is included in the price.
Stop at Waitiki Landing for a freshly prepared sit down lunch, also included in your ticket price.
Drive along 90 Mile Beach in our purpose built off road vehicle and take in the rugged beauty of the Far North's west coast.
Climb the sand dunes at Te Paki stream for the chance to sandboard back down...it's a long way up but worth the effort if you are up for it!
Get to Cape Reinga... the meeting place of the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean and the northern tip of NZ.
Stop in for fresh fish and chips at the Mangonui Fish Shop to refuel (at your own cost) before you return to Paihia.

Remember to bring a spare change of clothes, towel, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, camera and sense of adventure.
