Through ancient graveyards and down dark cobblestone streets, you’ll learn the haunted truth about one of the oldest cities in America. You’ll hear fun and chilling stories of Charleston ghosts, haunted houses, voodoo, and Lowcountry superstitions. The Charleston Ghost and Dungeon Walking tour is the only dungeon walking tour that has access to THE DUNGEON!

What dungeon? The Provost Dungeon, located in the Old Exchange building on Broad and East Bay Streets, once housed prisoners during the Revolutionary War. Jailed for either treason or sedition, hundreds of prisoners were held there in the building, with some undoubtedly spending their final days there. For a place that holds over two centuries of mystery, it’s a honor for us to be able to show you the cavernous inside! Join us for some storytelling unlike any others in town!

Whether you want a city stroll with a bit of a thrill or have an interest in Charleston’s beautiful cemetery gardens that hold so many stories, our Ghost and Dungeon Walking Tour is sure to satisfy. Get ready for a scary history lesson you’ll not soon forget!

Available Tuesday - Saturday (March-November) departs at 7:00pm & 9:00pm. Please check in 15 minutes prior to tour departure. No tour departures on Thanksgiving Day.

Approximately 90 minutes walking around the city, highlighting several haunted city spots. We’ll spend around 20 minutes inside the pre-revolutionary dungeon filling your brains with its intriguing history.
