Highlights / General details
In New York City, horse-drawn carriages are a symbol of pre-modern life before the advent of motor vehicles. During this time, New Yorkers transported by horse-drawn carriage. As a result and over time, horses remained as a symbol to the New York City along with the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, the Statue of Liberty and the street-side performers. Horse-Drawn Carriages left as one of the rare way to taste the Central Park history.
The magic of the horse drawn surrounds you when you approach a carriage and the driver encourage you padding the horse. Then, once you are ready, with a little signal, the horse trots off to the many sights through the park. You are serenely taken on that trip to the harmony of clip, clopping, rattling of the wheels as well as rolling along slowly or a horse whinnying and the tinkling of the harness.
Then our driver also becomes your guide and formally talks you through many of the attractions the park has. A typical trip presents the Pond, many famous statues, Wollman Rink, the Carousel, Sheep Meadow, the Central Park Zoo and San Remo Building just to mention a few. Our driver also points out some movie scene locations which you probably say "Yes, I've seen that movie!"
All Central Park Sightseeing team members are professional licensed New York City horse-drawn cab drivers.
Our horse-drawn cab driver will inform you about history of the park and point out the buildings where celebrities live in.
