The Ambassador Winery Tour is more than simply a tour of two of the Napa Valley's most famous wineries, it is a tour of almost the whole Napa Valley. Begin your experience in the Wine Train Station, where our Wine Educator speaks about wine tasting and the Napa Valley while you participate by tasting some of our favorites and asking questions. Board the train as soon as it arrives at the station, where you will be served a freshly prepared lunch from our on board kitchen. Marvel at the beautiful western side of the Napa Valley through the expansive picture windows in our dining car. Then move to one of our restored 1915 Pullman lounge cars for dessert, coffee and cocktails. Then transfer to a luxury motorcoach and head for Raymond Vineyards winery.

Located in the very heart of the Napa Valley's wine growing region, but still off the beaten path, Raymond Vineyards has been a family operated winery for 35 years. Explore Raymond's wine making facilities and taste wine directly from the barrel. The Raymond Vineyards visit will conclude with a tasting of select Raymond Reserve and Small Lot series red and white wines.

Boarding the motorcoach once more, the tour travels along the Silverado Trail, on the east side of the Napa Valley, to ZD Wines. ZD is an organic, solar powered, family operated winery. Stop in the cellar and view what's fermenting, or take a look at the next step in the wine making process. Finally sit down, overlook the valley and finish with a spectacular tasting of current releases paired with nuts, fruits, and cheeses.

Itinerary

10:30am - Check In.

10:50am - Board the Train - You will begin in our Petite Gourmet Car, and our meal service will begin as soon as you arrive. Expect to begin eating at around 11:30am.

11:30a - Train Departs.

12:45pm - Move to the Lounge Car After finishing your meal, your server will let you know when your seat in the lounge car is ready. Move to the lounge car and enjoy coffee and dessert.

1:30pm - Transfer to Motorcoach You will not be on the train again after this point.

1:40pm - Arrive at Raymond Vineyards One hour tour and tasting at Raymond Vineyards.

2:35pm - Depart Raymond Vineyards.

2:45pm - Arrive ZD Wines One hour tour and tasting at ZD Wines.

3:45pm - Depart ZD Wines.

4:05pm - Arrive at Wine Train Station.

Additional Information

All of our winery tours require moderate stair climbing and standing for extended periods.

Participant restrictions

Depot wine tasting is for guests over 21 only.

Policies

Any reserved seats not checked in 10 minutes prior to departure may be released for free sale.

All seating is assigned on board the Train.
