Your 3 hour tour will unlock secret food havens nestled throughout this beautiful enclave and discover hidden history around every corner. As we take a stroll back through time, we will uncover the origins of some of New York's quintessential foods and how they have evolved into the delicious morsels we will indulge in today. Food, sweets, and an in-depth tour of the Village are all included in the price. This tour will feed your body, as well as your mind.

In addition, as with all of our tours, there is our Secret Dish, which will be revealed on the day of your tour.

Location

Tour departs from meeting point IFC Center - 323 6th Ave, New York, NY 10014. Take the 6th Avenue/Carmine Street exit at the West 4th Street A/B/C/D/E/F/M subway station. The IFC Center is located directly behind the subway exit. Your guide will be waiting for you underneath the IFC Center marquee, holding an orange umbrella.

Finish point: 7th Avenue and Commerce Street, nearest the Christopher Street #1 train subway station.

Itinerary

To begin, your native New York guide will teach you what to look for when choosing an classic New York-style bagel (and, of course, you will get to eat it too!) We will continue our tour at a local spaghetti and meatball shop and learn the secret history behind this classic "Italian" dish.

Your tour will include a stop at a local cupcake bakery, where you can take a trip back to your childhood, as you admire the charming schoolhouse fixtures and their vintage board game and lunchbox collection. They also make the sweetest little treat this side of the Hudson.

After the bakery, you will get to try the very best "regular slice" of pizza in the city, and this Brooklyn girl agrees! After exploring some of the most beautiful and winding cities of the Village, we will check out one of the hottest gourmet doughnut shops in the city!

Along the way, your guide will share with you some of the Village's secret history and what makes it such a unique enclave of New Amsterdam and Old New York. Oh, and, of course, there is our amazing Secret Dish, as well!
