GoCar, The Cure for the Common Tour®, lets you experience the beauty of San Francisco and visit places tour buses cannot go – all at your own pace!

1-Hour Tour - Chinatown / Downtown Loop:

Let GoCar guide you through San Francisco’s culturally fascinating Chinatown, the iconic and lavish downtown Union Square district, the historic North Beach neighborhood, and bustling Fisherman’s Wharf. This tour can be done in approximately one hour driving time and has several fun and informative detours if you want to extend the tour along the way. Finish your tour with a cruise along the Embarcadero, a beautiful water boulevard created after the 1989 earthquake as part of the beautification of the San Francisco waterfront. At the end of the tour, if you are having fun and want to stay out later feel free to continue on any or all of the tours listed below.

2-Hour Tour - Golden Gate Bridge and Back:

Let GoCar take you off the beaten path through many of San Francisco’s iconic parks like the Presidio and Crissy Field on the way to the Golden Gate Bridge and back. Snap some amazing photos along the Pacific Ocean and see the Golden Gate Bridge up close from above and below. You can even park and take a stroll along the span of the bridge if you choose.

On the way back explore the boutique shopping districts of Chestnut and Union Street and fill the trunk with the latest fashions or stop for a bite to eat. Finish your tour where tour buses can’t go by winding your way up Russian Hill to take an exhilarating ride down the world’s most crooked street, Lombard Street.

3-Hour Tour - Golden Gate Park and More:

Are you ready for a true San Francisco Adventure? In this tour, you will see everything on the Bridge and Back Tour with the addition of an extended loop that will take you past the homes of some of San Francisco’s most celebrated (and most notorious) residents on the way to the beautiful, 1017 acre Golden Gate Park.

Let GoCar guide you to San Francisco’s less known beaches such as China Beach and the infamous Baker Beach, famous for a deadly shark attack. Wind past the Cliff House as you descend the cliffs, opening up the dramatic expanse of Ocean beach. Next, you can visit the Golden Gate Park and all its attractions including live buffalo, the Japanese Tea Gardens, the De Young Museum, the Academy of science and the Conservatory of Flowers. If you are a fan of the 60’s and 70’s, then consider extending your tour to Haight Ashbury, made famous by Janice Joplin, The Grateful dead, and Jefferson Airplane during “The Summer of Love”.

Above is only a suggested route. You can visit all or some the tour’s highlights. If you are unsure of which tour to book, just book according to the amount of time you think you’d like to spend. We can customize a tour especially for you, with the sights you want to include, when you come into our shop.

The original GoCar (Standard GoCar) has a 50CC engine and will travel between 20mph-25mph while on the flat sections of the tour route.

An optional upgrade to a Sport Model GoCar may be made at the time of check-in based on availability. The Sport Model GoCar has a 150CC engine and will travel 35mph–40mph. The Sport Model upgrade is an additional $10.00 per hour.

Participant restrictions

Driver must be 21 years or older to rent and must provide a major credit card and valid driver’s license at the time of check-in (international license is not necessary).

Passengers must be 4 years of age or older - and small children must safely fit into one of our DOT approved helmets.

GoCars do not accommodate car seats for children.

Policies

GoCars hold a maximum of 2 people.

Prices are per GoCar, not per person.

On the day of rental, a $500 security deposit will be held on your credit card until the GoCar is returned (or $150 if a CDW or SLI insurance plan is purchased).

Renters will have the option to purchase Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance on the day of rental.

All riders must sign a standard participant agreement.

Renters are free to extend the length of their tour on the day of rental if available. Additional rental time will be charged in 15-minute increments.

Please call to confirm your reservation and departure time at least 24 hours in advance of the rental.
