Highlights / General details
The first stop is Frades Island, which has a history of slavery: here slaves from Africa were quarantined and prepared for sale on the mainland. Once the schooner drops anchor, you can relax and swim in the warm, clear water at one of the island's most beautiful beaches. Next, the tour continues to Itaparica, the largest island in the bay and an important historical site. You will get acquainted with Itaparica Island (Ponta de Areia), and you will be able to savor the delicacies of Bahian cuisine. There's enough time in the remainder of the afternoon to enjoy this beautiful tropical location. As the sun sets, you re-board the schooner for the trip back to Salvador.
