Take the Angel Island ferry for a day of fun and history in the middle of the Bay. Angel Island is a California State Park, wildlife preserve and one of the finest historical sites in the Bay Area that includes military garrisons and compounds from every major war dating back to the U.S. Civil War.

Also known as the “Ellis Island of the West,” Angel Island’s Immigration Station was the first stop for millions of Pacific Basin, Asian and Russian immigrants entering the United States. Be sure to check out the newly-restored Immigration Station!

One way ferry ticket; General state park entrance fee.

Exclusion

Transportation to and from ferry terminal; Guided tours and admission to the Immigration Station are not included.

Hours of operation

Available daily. Departures are throughout the day, and vary depending on season and holidays. Holiday schedule on President's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day.

One-way approximately 20-25 minutes.

Location

Year-round ferry service is available from San Francisco Pier 41.

San Francisco Pier 41 Terminal: Immediately adjacent to the Pier 39 entertainment complex; San Francisco, CA 94133.

Angel Island is only accessible via ferry.

Participant restrictions

Free admission for children 4 years of age or under.

Policies

*Tickets are valid for any departure.

Cancellation: Unredeemed vouchers are fully refundable.

No reservations required. First come, first served basis. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your desired departure time. No reserved seating available.

Only service animals allowed. Scooters, skateboards & roller skates/blades are not allowed on the island. No private Segways allowed on the ferry.

All tours operate weather permitting. Cruises may not operate during inclement weather.

Check with ticket booth on day of sailing for schedule. Times are subject to change without notice.
